Pain Points

While fitness apps have gained popularity in recent years, it is important to acknowledge that not everyone is equally enthusiastic about using them. We’ve explored some common reasons why people may be less inclined towards using fitness apps and highlighted key pain points that need to be addressed for increasing user engagement.

  1. Lack of Personalisation:Most individuals have unique fitness goals, preferences, and physical limitations that require tailored workout programs. Generic, one-size-fits-all routines offered by fitness apps often fall short in addressing customisation, personalised workout plans, individual goal setting, and adaptation to users' evolving needs over time.
  2. Limited Human Interaction and Accountability:Traditional gyms offer the benefit of personal trainers and a supportive community atmosphere, which can be lacking in fitness apps. Some individuals thrive on interactive coaching, real-time feedback, and being a part of like-minded communities which can be difficult to replicate on a digital platform.
  3. Inaccurate Tracking and Lack of Trust:Fitness apps heavily rely on tracking data, such as step counts, calories burned, and heart rate measurements, to provide insights and progress analysis. However, users often question the accuracy and reliability of these measurements, leading to a lack of trust in the app's capabilities.
  4. Lack of Long-Term Engagement and Motivation:Sustaining long-term engagement and motivation is a common challenge for fitness apps. Despite initial enthusiasm, individuals often lose interest and fail to sustain their engagement with the app over time, leading to abandoned fitness goals and limited app usage. Some reasons could be lack of results, monotony and boredom, unrealistic expectations and many more

Objective

The objective is to revolutionise the way people think and approach fitness. Whether users are beginners, fitness enthusiasts, or professionals, the app should be able to help them achieve their fitness goals, stay connected, motivate and enjoy the journey to a healthier lifestyle.

Timeline

In this 2-month Swedit project, we ensured a streamlined and efficient design process to build the app. Throughout the timeline, we maintained a proactive approach, ensuring effective collaboration and adherence to deadlines.

Design

Having a thorough grasp of the project objectives, we commenced the designing of information architecture and low-fidelity wireframes, defining the app's structure and user flow. Over the following weeks, we refined the wireframes, integrating visual elements and iteratively enhancing the design. Throughout the process, cross-functional feedback sessions were conducted to ensure alignment and agreement among stakeholders regarding design decisions.
